Submitting a background check is a simple 4-step process. You'll need available credits before you can complete a request.
🔑 Who can do this: Owner, Administrator, Manager, Verifier
🚀 Getting Started
From the sidebar, click Check Requests, then click the Request a Check button (or similar) in the top-right corner.
Step 1️⃣ — Candidate Details
Enter the candidate's information:
- First Name, Last Name, Middle Name, Suffix (if applicable)
- Email Address — This is where their invitation link will be sent
- Phone Number
- Purpose — A brief note on why the check is being done (e.g. "Pre-employment screening")
Click Next to continue.
Step 2️⃣ — Select Checks
Choose what you'd like to verify:
- Pick a Bundle — Choose Basic, Plus, or Advanced for a pre-built package
- Or select individual checks — Pick exactly the checks you need from the full list
The right-hand panel shows an Order Summary with:
- Each selected check and its credit cost
- Your Total Credit Cost
- Your current Available Balance
⚠️ If your balance is less than the total cost, you must purchase more credits before continuing.
Step 3️⃣ — Report Settings
Configure where the completed report is delivered:
- Redirect Report To — Send the report to a different email (e.g. a manager or HR inbox)
- CC Report To — Copy additional email addresses on the final report
- Send to Candidate — Toggle whether the candidate also receives a copy (default: Yes)
Step 4️⃣ — Review & Confirm
Review all the details before submitting:
- Candidate information
- Selected checks and total credit cost
- Report delivery settings
Click Confirm & Submit. The system will:
- Reserve the required credits (moved to Pending)
- Create the check request with status Invited
- Send the candidate an email and/or SMS with their personal secure link
✅ What Happens Next?
The candidate receives their link and completes the online form. You can track progress in real time from the Check Requests page.
💡 Tip: Make sure the candidate's email address is correct before submitting — the invitation link goes directly to that inbox.
